WHAT IS NEWQUAY MEMORY CAFÉ?

The café offers support and activities for guests who have memory difficulties and their family members or carer(s).

Activities are geared towards stimulating and sharing memories, generating conversation, and enjoying the company of others. All in an informal atmosphere, with tea and cake refreshments.

Guests who are carers have the opportunity to discuss all aspects of caring amongst themselves and with access to  guidance and support from professionals if required.

The café aims to be a place where people can be themselves and not be embarrassed by the affect that having a poor memory can have.

WHO RUNS THE MEMORY CAFÉ?

The Newquay Memory Café was initiated by the Rotary Club of Newquay who play a key part in running the Café in partnership with Newquay Inner Wheel,  Age Concern, Cornwall Care, Volunteers and Guests.

The Café has some volunteers who have qualifications in health or social care who are available to carers and guests if required.
